What's Your "Why" for travel? (Below are my "Whys")

Personality

I am by nature an adventurous and curious person.  Over the years those qualities have awakened the "Explorer" archetype within me which translates into a desire for World Travel and a Digital Nomadic lifestyle.

Experiencing place

Exploring the significance of a place. What it means to be from a place. How does the place feel? Does it have comforting energy?  Who were the ancestors of the place? What happened there? How has the placed evolved and where is it headed?

Connecting with nature

Cultivating a regular practice of spending at least short periods of time in nature daily. Admiring the beauty of our earth home and acting in ways  that promote environmental resilience. Respecting nature's intelligence and applying nature's wisdom wherever we can in our lives.

Honoring all our relations

Honoring indigenous wisdom by remembering the ancestors and cultivating a worldview that all life is sacred and we are all related (including people, animals, plants, and the environment, etc.). These sensibilities when coupled with actions such as meditating, praying, performing ceremony, or celebrating with music/dance are key for cultivating respectful relationships with our relations.

Holding sacred space

Concentrating with healing intent such that our relations will find their way through life's challenges and will manifest their highest potential in this life. The prayer is may the effect of our actions out in the world be for the highest good of all our relations, with ease and grace, and for the purposes of healing. May we all be blessed with happiness, health, and prosperity along our respective journeys.

Creating more joy

Travel is my bliss. I have felt the most free and childlike when I was traveling. I particularly enjoy traveling with a companion and experiencing together diverse cultures, food, and the earth's natural beauty.
